Adult Health

  • Blood Pressure Check Services - no cost.  This service is for individuals needing to monitor their blood pressure over a period of time.  We will assist with any logs kept in response to your physician request for monitoring due to a new or changed medication.  Call (325)692-5600 for appointment.
  • Cholesterol Check Services (Lab Chemistry or Finger Stick) - This service is for individuals needing to monitor their cholesterol levels in response to changes in diets or use  of medications.  The cost is dependant on service type however generally will not exceed $10.00.  Fasting for 8 hours required priot to test.  Call (325)692-5600 for appointment.
  • Diabetes Check Services (Lab Chemistry or Finger Stick) - This service is for checking blood sugar levels.  The service is used by individuals who are without a machine, or to verify the accuracy of the machine they are using.  The cost is dependant on service type however generally will not exceed $10.00.  Fasting for 8 hours required prior to test.  Call (325)692-5600 for appointment.

 

Family Planning

  • Contraceptive Healthcare - Patients can access the clinic with Medicaid, Medicaid Womens Health, Title V, or Private Pay.  Call (325)692-5600 for an appointment.  Services provided are annual physical, PAP Smear, 3 month refills and recommended referrals for other medical services.  Contraception methods offerred are Condom, Depo, and Pill.    
  • Pregnancy testing by specimen.  Walk-in at specific times.  Call (325)692-5600 for the times.  If positive we refer you to Hendrick Medcial Center for Pre-natal care, and WIC for nutritional care.

  • HPV (Gardasil) vaccine, a 3 shot series, is available for groups 9-18 years, and 19-26 years of age.  Call (325)692-5600 for an appointment.
  • Shingles (Zostavax) vaccine is available for individuals who are 60+ years of age, and have had chickenpox.  Call (325)692-5600 for an appointment.


Dental

  • Childrens Dental - We accept Medicaid, Texas CHIP, and United Way Dental program eligiable patients.  If unsure call us at (325)692-5600.
  • Adult Dental - You must be a MAAC program eligible program participant to access this program.  If unsure call us at (325)692-5600.  Download the eligibility requirements form we use HERE.  We apply the Title V column.


Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD's)

Texas Health Steps (EPSDT)

  • Texas Medicaid healthcare recertification program.  Must have Medicaid.  No other eligibility requirements.  For appointment call (325)692-5600.  For information on THSteps go HERE

 

Tuberculosis(TB)

  • Clinical Care - Call our Main site at (325)692-5600 to make an appointment.  The only eligibility requirement is that you live in Taylor County - but call anyway if unsure.  For information on TB go HERE

 Laboratory 

  • Water Bacteria Testing Services - We test to verify the submitted drinking water is free from harmful bacteria.  Come by the Health Department at 850 North 6th to pickup water sampling instructions and a free container for the sample.  Follow the instructions and return the sample to our office.  Test cost is $20.00.
  • Physician Requested Testing - We are a blood drawing site for physcian requested lab testing.  We accept LabOne benefits and Private Pay.
  • Rabies Sample Submission Service- We recieve specimens for shippment to the Texas State Laboratory.  Call us at (325)692-5600 for specific appropriate submission requirements.  For after hours submission please call the Abilene 911 office.

 

MAAC (Primary Healthcare)

  • Here is the eligibililty form we use for all clients.  To see if you are elegibile, download the file and look under the Title V column.  The form depicts elegibilty for Medicaid, Texas CHIP, Taylor Texas County Indigent Program, Title V, Womens Health, and WIC. Please make sure you are using the most recent revision (They change yearly).
