Information About the Flu Vaccine
Taylor County influenza statistics cited here are based upon data from eight reporting organizations, from hospitals and clinics to schools and doctors’ offices. Below are 3 links giving information on how the viruses are selected for the vaccine, how well it works, and the effects of the vaccine on the circulating flu viruses. The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District, in conjunction with local influenza sentinels, is submitting samples from flu patients to the state lab for genetic typing to find out how effective the vaccine is as well as determining which strains are circulating.
